2) Read ch. 23-24 on participles, ablative absolute, passive periphrastic.

3) Sentences p. 158, #1 and #2:

Igne viso, omnes viri et uxores territae sunt et ultra urbem ad litus insulae navigaverunt, ubi perfugium inventum est.

Populo metus oppresso, iste imperator nobis ex urbe pellendus est.
