Elementary Latin

  1. Review the Syllabus.
  2. Purchase the textbook for your class.
  3. Read Ch. 1.
  4. Write out vocabulary for Ch. 1.
  5. Learn the endings for present tense, 1st conjugation: -O, -S, -T, -MUS, -TIS, -NT.
  6. Conjugate clamo, clamare (shout) and laudo, laudare (praise) in the present tense. Give infinitive and translate each word
  7. Latin from class: Quid nomen tibi est? Nomen mihi est ______. / Salve, salvete; vale, valete. / Gratias (tibi ago). Salutatio.

Elementary Greek

  1. Review the Syllabus.
  2. Purchase the textbook for your class.
  3. Read Ch. 1.
  4. Learn the Greek alphabet. Here’s the site of the Greek alphabet we reviewed in class.

Intermediate Latin

  1. Review the Syllabus.
  2. Purchase the textbook for your class.
  3. Read Ch. 23, 24, 25 on participles and infinitives.
  4. Meet in the Dr. Chew’s office, 203 Hilsdorf Hall, next Tuesday, 6 September.

Classical Mythology

  1. Review the Syllabus.
  2. Purchase the textbook for your class.
  3. Read Ch. 1 & 2, pp. 3 – 20.

  2. Review all 3rd declension nouns (3 different chapters); contract verbs (all 3 types); participles (active; present, future, aorist, perfect).
  3. Sentences to translate.
  4. Conjugations and declining practice.
  5. Meet on Tuesday 6 September in Dr. Chew’s office, 203 Hilsdorf Hall.
