Elementary Latin

  1. Purchase textbook and read the Introduction (esp. the section on pronunciation), pp. xxvii-xliv, and ch. 2.
  2. Read Syllabus.
  3. Conjugate laudo (‘I praise’) in the present tense. (From class: amo, amas, amat, amamus, amatis, amant.)
  4. Learn these endings:  -o, -s, -t, -mus, -tis, -nt.

Elementary Greek

  1. Purchase textbook and read the Introduction, pp. xix – xxix.
  2. Read Syllabus.
  3. Learn the Greek alphabet, uppercase and lowercase letters p. xxiii; diphthongs; iota subscript; rough and smooth breathing; accent marks (acute, grave, circumflex).
